Instrument Sales and Service is a fast growing electromechanical parts company with an immediate need for an Inside Sales Representative. You will be responsible for learning the ISS product lines and matching these products with customer interests and needs. This position focuses on increasing sales quality and customer satisfaction, while meeting or exceeding defined sales goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in an established training program to learn ISS product line, sales and service processes and customer satisfaction requirements. Manage and grow new and existing accounts as assigned
  • Proactively contact customers through, but not limited to phone calls, email, mailings and fax to communicate opportunities to purchasing products.
  • Utilize leads generated by our online orders, website contact forms and customer lists to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline. Generate new business opportunities by calling upon, qualifying and penetrating current and new target markets as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with sales management, product management, engineering and operations to prepare, present and quote major sales presentations – demonstrating the benefits of ISS products, sub-assembly capabilities, value-add and cost saving solutions, to key contacts within targeted accounts.
    Negotiate terms of sales to secure orders in accordance with company policies and marketing strategies.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs. Solicit customer feedback to improve service; Respond to customer complaints, requests for service and assistance. Contact customers, suppliers, internal departments and others to investigate and define problems and take appropriate action to expedite orders. Act as an information liaison with other departments to resolve problems.
  • Observe and report marketing data pertaining to market trends and competition.
    Occasional travel to visit key customers and/or attend occasional trade shows and other relevant gatherings.
  • Performs order entry and other related computer tasks as required.
    Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for acting on new and different requests and exploring opportunities that add value and contribute to business unit goals.
  • Conduct research to identify and match product lines to customer requirements and close sales opportunities.
    Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations to facilitate messages, campaigns and offerings.
  • Drives sales to meet or exceed established sales and performance goals.
  • Develop contacts and qualification information for sales team.
  • Complete and submit necessary sales, activity and expense reports at least monthly.
    Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with company values and accepted cultural norms.
    Document and communicate customer contact results and follow-up activities using the customer relationship management system.
  • Stays abreast or inventory, product lines and new products in the industry.
    Estimates and quotes prices and prepares form and sales contracts.
  • Able to troubleshoot ERP system inventory sales issues – related problems to service the internal and external customer.

Do you have what we are looking for?

  • BS degree, Five plus years’ experience in progressively responsible sales position or equivalent in training and experience.
  • Self-initiator with a competitive sales drive and a commitment to maintaining superior customer relationships.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth. Strong communication, negotiating and selling skills.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to quickly learn product lines and customer segments.
  • Able to rapidly establish successful relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and creativity to adjust style to varying audiences and potential customers.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software products.
  • Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 15%).
